Ok, so I know that the title is a bit of a shocked. But there is a thing called a tech whore. In my line of business on forums we consistently remind ourselves that it is very possible to buy gear in a "whore manner". We want it just to have it with no purpose. I consistently fight that battle when it comes to gadgets, music equipment and books (sometimes my flesh wins). Those are my favorite areas of spending. Oh yea, let's not forget music. So I have been reading up on the Macbook Air. It looks so cool but that's about it. There is no speed to it and it's size is really not very work flow efficient. The size causes you to attach items to it that normally would be in the laptop. I would advise people not to buy it. Yes it's cute! Yes it's revolutionary! Yes it's mac but for me. I am going to pass. If I am going to drop $1800 bucks. I will be getting a Macbook Pro (which is incredibly attractive and on my list).
So how does this tie into scripture? I know you didn't think I was gonna write a blog without talking bout my DADDY. It's like Proverbs 6:25 says, "Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes," This applies to a woman but I apply it to technology. Don't lust after technology or let it captivate you because it can stir you to sin and or idolatry. Remember there will always be something new. In the Kingdom we should go for what is "PURPOSEFUL", not always what is fly.
